Śiva — for men preparing to have a child
What does a sperm-support supplement actually do?
I have just put together a sperm-support formula of my own called Śiva. It came out of sitting down with a great deal of research and settling on this one combination — then filing with the Thai FDA, finding a factory that meets standard, choosing the packaging myself and designing the label myself. (If I could sit and press the capsules myself, I probably would have.) Every one of those steps is so that a patient taking it can be confident he is getting the full benefit.
Today I am going to lay the research out for you, nutrient by nutrient, so you can see what each one that I chose is actually there for.

What the research says about each nutrient in the formula
L-carnitine
- An antioxidant; it lets sperm put their energy to use for swimming efficiently.
- Raises sperm concentration.
- Raises the percentage that move (motility).
- Raises the number of normally shaped sperm.

Vitamin C
- Has antioxidant activity.
- Improves sperm quality.
- Raises the percentage of sperm that swim forward (progressive motility).
- Raises sperm concentration.
- Raises the number of normally shaped sperm.

Zinc
- Zinc is an essential mineral, it does not accumulate in the body, and it has antioxidant activity.
- It plays a part in how sperm move.
- It plays an important part during fertilisation.
- Its antioxidant action protects sperm from various toxins.

Lycopene
- Lycopene is an antioxidant found in large amounts in tomatoes.
- Reduces damage to the DNA in the sperm head.
- Sperm concentration goes up, and so does the number of live sperm.
- The pregnancy rate is higher.

Vitamin E
- Has antioxidant activity.
- Men who supplemented with Vitamin E had a pregnancy rate significantly higher than those given placebo.
- Sperm concentration goes up.
- Raises progressive motility.

Folate
- Reduces free radicals.
- Raises the rate of pregnancy achieved naturally.
- Raises the rate of pregnancy from IVF/ICSI treatment.

Selenium
- A mineral that matters in the making of sperm.
- Supplementing with Selenium raises concentration, motile sperm, live sperm, normally shaped sperm, and semen volume.

Vitamin D
- Keeps sperm production and hormone production in the testes normal.
- Improves concentration and the percentage that move, and can raise the pregnancy rate as well.

You see? Getting sperm quality to improve really is not hard at all.
